Buck and I built an enclosed lap pool several years ago. The screens and sliding plastic doors keep bad weather out and heat in, so we can swim most of the year. December, January and February are usually just too cold. But now we're into March, and with the arrival of last week's balmy weather, we started swimming again. We donned our long, hooded heavy white terry cloth robes and trekked like monks at vespers the short distance from bedroom to The Pool House of The Honey Moon.
It's a great place to experience a sunset, or to enjoy a lunch break on a bright day. But my favorite time is when it's raining. I feel enclosed in a surreal bubble. Like yesterday. We were lucky to have the company of an enchanting luna moth. It was clinging to a door screen, protected from the drizzle by an overhang.
